The events that lead up to the start of the American Civil War |
There were many events major and minor events that lead up to America having a civil war between the Northern and Southern States. Some of these events that led up to the war were the Missouri Compromise, Nat Turner's Rebellion, the Compromise of 1850, the Novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, Bleeding Kansas, Dred Scott v. Sanford, John Brown's Raid, and Abraham Lincolin's Election. But the event that officially started the civil war and that was when the confederates bombed the Union at Fort Sumter, South Carolina April 12, 1861. Which you could say was the date of the start of the civil war.
